Studio150 is based in Bangkok. The studio’s practice is on a playground that consists of observation, research, curation, and storytelling and visualises those artefacts with notions of contemporary world context through graphic design techniques, new media, activities and exhibitions. The studio projects are distributed directly from our perspectives and engage with interdisciplinary collaboration, both for commission projects and initiatives, together with valuing logic, conceptualisation, and aesthetics.

Ready Set Old is an exhibition promoting Chiang Mai as a potential "Blue Zone" through engaging design and informative content. The graphic design features a lined map of Chiang Mai in blue tones, symbolizing the theme.

Inspired by the northern Thai alphabet, the typography uses a classic font with parallel lines, reflecting its traditional writing style. This blend of cultural identity and modern storytelling captures the exhibition’s spirit and vision for Chiang Mai.

EQ’s new visual identity reflects a bold and dynamic direction for the brand. The logo combines sharp, angular forms with smooth, organic curves to create a distinct and recognizable symbol. The Q element carries a double meaning as both the letter itself and a conversation bubble, highlighting communication and dialogue. Designed for versatility, the logo stands out with confidence and clarity across all platforms.

Australian Embassy Bangkok

A graphic design for an exhibition, in cooperation with Thinkk studio as a space designer, was commissioned by the Australian embassy in Bangkok. The exhibition showcases the MPavilion 2024. The graphic features the light and shadow of the pavilion's outstanding canopy and the featured chair, symbolizing its architectural significance and providing a visual anchor for the design.

The 12th edition of the Nordic Biennale of Contemporary Art - momentum12 emerges from a unique collaboration among three collectives: STUDIO150, Gudskul, and Post.Festival. Embracing the spirit of "Together as to gather", curated by Tenthaus, our collective vision is to foster a sense of unity and diversity within the biennale's identity. Central to our concept is the notion of participation, where everyone can contribute to creating the number 12, symbolizing both inclusivity and multiplicity. In crafting the digital presence of the biennale, Studio150 partnered with Rawiruj Suradin to reimagine ways for users to engage with various representations and information, enriching their interactive experience.

Visual identity for Non Native Native Fair 2023 (Amsterdam) with the theme "Prosperity Now!". The exploration dives into the intricate ties between magic and monetary value. The visual identity merges contemporary graphics with Asian beliefs, highlighting symbols of wealth through elements like incense smoke, gold, and red colours.

The Bangkok Art Book Fair 2023 - visual identity and environmental design embodies the theme "Homegrown community." through geometric shapes, a unique font design and typographic system emerge, metaphorically reflecting community building. Held at asia hotel Bangkok from December 1-3, 2023, the 6th edition welcomed 140+ exhibitors and 3000+ visitors, fostering collaboration in the independent book-making realm.

Ordinary Life Navigator 2024 Calendar

This isn't a typical poster; it's a 2024 calendar designed to guide you through the navigation of an ordinary life. Within the confines of a daily routine, we're often advised to adhere to specific activities for a happy and healthy life. Yet, the reality is that diverse living conditions place limitations on individuals, hindering their successful adherence to these recommendations.

The objective of this project is to reflect these conditions, illustrating the lifestyles of different individuals molded by uncontrollable influencing factors.

In a transformative journey of thonburi hospital, Studio150 developed a new visual system, including an illustration, icon set and signage system. The system balances a medical institution's representation and accessibility. The goal is to create a unique and user-friendly presentation of Thonburi Hospital, enhancing its overall image and inviting positive interaction with visitors and patients within the hospital's evolving landscape.

Must Have No Matter How!

The research-based publication observes and investigates the re-sale phenomenon and raises the question about appreciation and values. The book also highlights case studies of a wide range of products, from K-pop collectable albums and Pokemon cards to hi-street brands, and it is also on metaverse.

Printing on special blue ink, 96 pages contain text and 3d illustrations. Content available in English and Thai.

The book is part of Studio150’s annual publication project in collaboration with summer interns to share daily conversations that lead to in-depth research and storytelling.

Urban Furniture Competition 2022 Seatscape & Beyond

From 2022-2023 we had the excellent opportunity to work with the art & culture team of one Bangkok to create art direction, competition materials, content curation, and exhibition design for one Bangkok urban furniture competition 2022 “Seatscape and Beyond”.

The competition is for students to reimagine the public furniture in one Bangkok’s public realms. From the start, the 3d model characters were introduced to represent sitting postures and to guide the participant on the mode of sitting the competition was looking for. The technique also has been applied to demonstrate the finalists’ prototypes at the final stage. The exhibition at Bangkok Design Week 2023 presents 10 finalists’ work together with their process journeys.

Logo and identity design for MORE. The brand acts as a lab for experimenting with potential wastes into renewable materials. The design elements convey the possibilities for integrating two components: scientists and designers, innovations and ideas, and experimentations and functions.

Bangkok Art Book Fair 2022 acts as a platform for contemporary art books and contemporary art print medium makers / publishers / collectors / public audience for sharing the like-minded passion and interests in contemporary art books together. The annual event is comprised of artists books, art book makers and independent publishers, art book launches, talks and lectures, workshop and art book archival exhibition. This year, the illustration and responsive font “number 5” is used to present the fifth edition of BKKABF and its main theme about “visual narrative”.

Identity design for the Museum of Contemporary Art Bangkok (MOCA). The project is to re-brand MOCA Bangkok on the museum’s 10th-anniversary occasion. The design uses the signature pattern ‘Karn Mali’ to inspire the new logotype and museum’s typeface.

Isan Flavour Library

Isan Flavor Library, the food security project emphasizes the use of local surplus raw materials or unpopular in the monoculture system. By using the knowledge of fermentation to develop a variety of uses and tastes for consumers.

The design uses the illustration (heart-shape and fermenting jar) to present the process of preserving food and also the hi-contrast and bright colours scheme to depict the charactor of "Isan" the northeastern area of Thailand.

A poster design for a project from BKKABF2021 “The Future Poster Project” that aims to collect and show ideas on the future of cities by residential designers through poster designs. The poster intends to stimulate how clean water and fresh air are necessary for living. Besides the essential factors for well-being, they represent the responsibility of residents to their city and reflect the quality of it.

After two years of COVID-19 lockdown, this year Bangkok Art Book Fair speaks on the theme "Don't keep your dream at home". A set of custom typefaces constructed from the connecting dots as a metaphor for gathering back on site for sharing dreams and dialogues.

The design for a product design showcase “Domestic Exhibition”. Under the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, the project focuses on topics within the nation, such as phenomena, local wisdom and personal experiences. The design adapts the idea by creating a structure for a custom typeface that is able to adjust the width, height, contrast or thickness. The variety of the font’s adjustment implies the possibilities beyond lacking resources in the situation that we are all facing.

NNN Fair 2021

Non Native Native
– Art Direction

The design for the first edition of “Non Native Native Fair (NNN Fair)” event. The art direction reflects the idea of drawing on the expertise and perception of artists and designers with Asian backgrounds working in the west by using an iconic representative of the Eastern culture, "Asian dragon", which carries a different appearance and sentiments from the European dragon. The participant works are presented via the online platform, while the pixelated illustration style shows the project's web-based communication digitally. The fonts correlate with the illustration, which can interact and adapt with the form of the illustration, which conveys the sense of the flying dragon through the placement of typography.

A collaborative project with Philip Huang. In the project, we’ve translated fascinating research on indigo into a series of visual explanations. The design presents the world of indigo in a contemporary context through the juxtaposition of data visualisations and retro-future 3d illustrations.

In everyday life, the chair is a multipurpose tool that we use to sit, relax, or as a decoration. But, what we may not be aware of is the seating also speaks of the seated. Throughout human history; a throne represents the power of the ruler, a VIP seat shows who is the priority, and a ‘crefers to the person in charge of an organisation. It seems as though every chair has its own voice with or without the user, and a powerful one at that. Built upon this concept, our design gives a contemporary nod to the extraordinary role of the chair. This series of chairs acts as a spokesperson on current affairs.

Rest In Progress (R.I.P)

Chavalit Soemprungsuk

Rest in Progress (R.I.P) conveys a complete collection of digital artworks, life anecdotes and thought processes of Chavalit Soemprungsuk (1939-2020). The artist commissioned the project to create a systematical record of his archives and distribute it to the public for passing on his knowledge to the young artists. The project was made possible with support from Museum of Contemporary Art, Bangkok (MOCA).

For the public, copies are available to purchase at MOCA in Bangkok and Stedelijk museum in Amsterdam.

A series of poster designs for Thinkk Together: Why Do We Need Another Chair Exhibition (part of Bangkok Design Week 2020), which questions the interpretation of a chair in the contemporary context. The project was initiated by Thinkk Studio in collaboration with designers in many disciplines.

Tiger City Exhibition

“Tiger City Exhibition” aims to introduce the story of forest conservation and the co-existence between humans and wildlife in Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, Uthai Thani, Thailand. Park rangers conserve the sanctuary area by using a smart patrol system; the patrol system that divides the forest with square grids, to make the mission more effective. The poster design reflects the idea of the bit-by-bit system that gradually unfolds the story within the forest through the custom typeface and graphic elements.

Concept, storytelling, and catalogue design for city materials project (created by Thinkk Studio for Bangkok Design Week 2019). The project aims to help lessen the burden on the city and seek alternatives to turn Bangkok’s waste into potential materials. The book catalogues the research, characteristics, accessibility, and experimentation on 6 city materials: arboriculture / plastic bags / incense cores and ashes / lottery tickets / coffee grounds, and scraps from demolition.

This project was initiated out of interest, as these days, information is the communication tool that is conveyed either through content or through direct or indirect observation. However, the information itself is used for a different purpose. It is intentionally false or inaccurate information that is spread deliberately. It is an act of deception and false statements to convince someone of untruth. Edible oil is an example of an issue that can show the processes of disinformation unfolding. Thus, Soy The World Project was created to showcase alternative information about this phenomenon.

Besides the object itself, the space surrounding it is also one of the essential elements for a designer to consider. Catalogue of white space explores the role of “white space” as a tool in art and design by creating a system to map and analyse the usage of space according to the data from the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam through data visualisation.
